Learning & Development

At Better Workplace Humans, Sarah Markwick and Sandy Gunn work with individuals and teams to help them see that everyone is a leader to someone. For more than 20 years, we have been following our passion for creating great places to work. In our mind, a great workplace is one that encourages people to lead with their best selves.

We all mean to bring our best selves to work, but certain things get in the way. For some, it might be capacity, for others confidence, and for others a reluctance to have those hard conversations. There are loads of reasons! Our development and coaching programs give teams and individuals the chance to move past their reasons and learn new habits that will stick with them for the rest of their lives.

BWH Card Collection

We could all use more empathy, more thoughtfulness, and a greater sense of connection at work. And, everywhere else, frankly.

But even if we have the skills to do these things well, our own stress, busyness, and level of distraction can make it hard to notice what is going on for others or find a meaningful way to say that we do.

We have created a collection of greetings cards with a better workplace humans feel that we hope you’ll use to be better at noticing and connecting with others at work.

Our Podcast

We have always been one another’s support system for talking through workplace situations and challenges. Our conversations used to be over beers, but in 2018, we decided to share them on a podcast. Don’t Be a Jerk at Work, is inspired by our collective years of bearing witness to sometimes uplifting, sometimes uncomfortable, and often bizarre workplace interactions. Through our conversations and stories, we invite listeners to pause and reflect on whether or not they are choosing to bring their best selves to work.
